Don't Overspend On Your Purchase For a Swaging Tool- Shop M.E.:

At Manufacturer Express, we’re proud to carry a wide assortment of swaging tools for wire rope or aircraft cable. Purchasing the right tool for the job is essential in doing the job right the first time around and eliminating the need to return a tool that doesn’t work right. Give one of our product experts a call at 866-612-4896 if you have any doubt about the swaging tool you need for the job at hand. We’ll help you locate the one that will work best for your application.

Whether you’re looking for a hand, scissor action hand swager or a bench-top type, we have what you want in our inventory, and at prices that beat competitive websites. We carry 24”, 30”, and 36” hand swaging tools and 24” bench swagers, each designed to make your job a whole lot easier- and using our hand swaging tools couldn’t be any simpler:

Step One: If you’re making a loop, slide the metal sleeve over the end of the wire rope and down the cable. If you’re creating a splice in the cable, use two metal sleeves. Check to be certain that the sleeves used are sized to the wire, otherwise you’ll find that the connection is not going to hold for very long.

Step Two: If you’re making a loop, pull the end of the cable up and over the running side and insert the end into the sleeve. If you’re making a splice, slide the ends of the two cables through both metal sleeves.

Step Three: Open up the swaging tool and set the sleeve into the appropriate sized jaw notch. Pull three-fourths of the cable through the end of the metal sleeve and line up the outside edge of the swaging tool’s jaw with the end of the sleeve. Take an extra second to ensure everything is lined up properly.

Step Four: Close the swaging tool to form a crimp in the end of the sleeve and slide the sleeve the distance specified in your operating instructions. Repeat the entire procedure until the length of the sleeve is crimped. Your instructions will be clear as to how many crimps will create the right connection. Be sure to follow the operating manual to the letter.

Step Five: Slide one of the crimped sleeves into the swaging tool gauge to ensure it is delivering the right amount of pressure. If too loose or too tight, adjust the tension when using the swaging tool.

Take care of your swaging tool and it will provide you with many years of service. Applying too much pressure when using the tool will break the pin located in the tool’s jaws and render the tool useless. It may take a bit of trial and error to get a good feel for the swaging tool. If you have any questions about your purchase, feel free to contact us at Manufacturer Express- we’ll be happy to help.
